Last year in Proviso Township was, it’s probably no exaggeration to say, epic — primarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which overturned our lives in a trillion different ways. And then George Floyd was murdered, which prompted its own global reckoning that engulfed Proviso Township. Quarantines and business closures and mask mandates collided with protests.

For some families in western Cook County, it’s a struggle everyday to to put food on the table. But the Westchester Food Pantry is helping fighting insecurity.
