Volunteer Spotlight: Volunteering with Kids!

Volunteering at the Westchester Food Pantry is a meaningful way for children to learn empathy, gratitude, and the importance of giving back. Kids gain confidence and pride as they see how their efforts directly help neighbors in need, and families who volunteer together create lasting memories while modeling compassion and service.

Children ages 12 and older are welcome to volunteer at the Pantry on their own with a parent’s permission, while kids ages 10–11 may join volunteer shifts alongside a parent. Younger children ages 5–10 can also get involved by helping with outreach—making treat bags at the Pantry or joining their parents at community events. No matter the age, volunteering gives kids the chance to make a difference and reminds families that working together strengthens our whole community.
