Yard Sale Fundraiser
Save the date! The 2026 Yard Sale Extravaganza will be May 28, 29 and 30
Our Yard Sale Extravaganza will take place in just a few short weeks and your help is essential to the success of our highly anticipated and largest fundraiser of the year! We’re looking for a dedicated team of volunteers to complete the necessary tasks prior to the sale, provide customer assistance during the three days of the sale and clean up after the sale is over.
Want to volunteer? Sign up here to help with the Yard Sale.
Spring weather means yard sale season is upon us, and for the Westchester Food Pantry that means…YARD SALE EXTRAVAGANZA! Each year, people donate their unwanted but totally fabulous items to our sale. We sort, price and store, then pull everything out for a three-day sale!
There are three drop-off days leading up to the sale. Volunteers will help unload cars, sort and price items, and box them up for storage until the sale. Please read the volunteer notes carefully and choose the role that works best for you.
Bonus: volunteers working at the Donation Drop-Off Days can buy items as they see them–no need to wait until the Yard Sale Extravaganza. See something you like while sorting items? Buy it right then and there!
High school students can volunteer with a parent’s permission. For safety reasons, we cannot allow volunteers under the age of 14.
The drop-off days and sale are held at the Westchester Community Church, 1840 Westchester Blvd. Thank you!
Best Yard Sale Extravaganza Yet!
Each year our sale gets better and better. We are excited to announce that this year’s event raised over $18,500 for the Pantry! The success is due to our hardworking committee and volunteers, along with all of the donors and shoppers. Special thanks to:
- The YSE Committee for their countless hours, valuable expertise, and collaborative spirit they invested to ensure the success of this fundraiser.
- The 100+ volunteers who generously shared their time, energy, and talents – from collecting, sorting, and pricing donations to setup, customer service, and cleanup.
- Pastor Joe Mills and the congregation of the Westchester Community Church for graciously providing the pantry with the use of their space to hold this event.
- Rich Rankin of Rich Rankin Music, whose creativity and technical expertise enhanced this event through the addition of background music and promotional commercials adding energy, professionalism, and enjoyment.
- Jim and Claudia Gabel for their guidance and financial support. As the dedicated leaders of this event for the past seven years, they generously shared their experience and expertise, providing invaluable direction and encouragement.
This event is a great example of how much we can do when we have enough volunteers. Together, we make a difference. Thank you!
